c. Briefly explain the lifecycle of a butterfly

Answer 👉 The lifecycle of a butterfly consists of four stages. First, the female butterfly lays eggs on the under surface of leaves. The eggs hatch into larvae or caterpillars in a few days. The caterpillar eats leaves voraciously and grows in size. Once the caterpillar has stopped eating, it secretes a saliva-like substance and wraps itself with it. This stage is known as the pupa stage. The pupa does not eat or appear to be active. The pupa is covered in a shell called a cocoon. After a few days, the cocoon breaks, and the adult butterfly emerges. The adult butterfly then starts laying eggs, and the lifecycle of a butterfly continues.
